Latest European fund statistics
In March 2024 EFAMA, the European Fund and Asset Management Association, issued a report containing an overview of statistical developments in asset management in 2023. The main developments in 2023 can be summarised as follows:
- UCITS and AIFs attracted net inflows of EUR 304bn. This represents a significant reversal from the net outflows of EUR 273bn observed in 2022.
- The net assets of European investment funds increased by 8% to surpass the EUR 20 trillion threshold again.
- UCITS registered net sales of EUR 202bn in 2023. This compares very favourably to negative net sales of EUR 167bn in 2022.
- Money market funds attracted EUR 172bn of net new money during 2023.
- Net inflows into ETFs reached a new record of EUR 169bn
- Net inflows into AIFs reached EUR 102bn. This compares to net outflows of EUR 105bn in 2022.
